Are you looking for an up-and-coming area of London in which to invest, either as a landlord or for yourself?
We’ve long touted the opportunities available in Canada Water but were thrilled to see the area highlighted in a recent feature in The Standard’s Homes & Property section. It showcased Canada Water as one of the top four London areas it believes will outperform the market this year, with new homes, regeneration and house price growth to be delivered in 2026 and beyond.
The feature highlighted Canada Water as an under-the-radar area, but it’s one we’ve been actively promoting and serving clients in for more than 20 years. We are so confident in its appeal that we have two office locations in Canada Water. This includes one at the Marine Wharf development, making it easy for you to drop by, have a chat and then explore the area a little more.
A £4bn redevelopment plan
The building interest is the result of Canada Water’s £4 billion redevelopment plan – a 15-year masterplan that will create a whole new neighbourhood. It will include new homes, shops, restaurants, green spaces and cultural amenities in an area that previously focused solely on industrial use.
Neighbouring Canary Wharf, Canada Water’s 53-acre mega project includes 3,000 new homes, 2 million sq ft of workspace, 1 million sq ft of retail, restaurants and cultural amenities and 130 acres of parks and woodland – the latter equating to more than a third of green space in the area.
A ‘blueprint for a beautiful London’
Its developers call it a “blueprint for a beautiful London – a place where people can work, live, learn, relax, stay fit and belong” as well as “central London’s most exciting new town centre.” We couldn’t agree more.
Building of the masterplan began in 2021, following planning permission granted the year before. The project reached new milestones last year, including the completion of The Founding, a 35-storey apartment development next to Canada Water station, which welcomes its first residents this year.
The massive regeneration project is driving huge interest in Canada Water and Marine Wharf, and there are several opportunities for buyers to relocate or invest in the area in both the new developments and existing properties.
